Scotland

The photographs on this page were all taken from Scotts view in the Scottish borders.

The Eildon hills: in the Scottish borders were formed around 300 million years ago by a volcanic seem that ran across what is now the Scottish borders before the dinosaurs roamed the earth, but never broke the surface in the classic volcano form. Instead the lava flow was pushed down into the earth beneath the rock that was there. Over countless years the land formation that was, has been eroded by glaciers and rivers leaving behind the much harder volcanic rock that is now the Eildon hills.

Scots view is 181 meters 583 feet above sea level to the east of the Eildon hills.

Images on this page were taken using three different lenses on a scouting visit with a view to revisiting later in the year when lighting and atmospherics are better.

No changes have been made to any of the images other than resizing.
